Welcome to AI Academy, an online learning platform operated by Mario Urbina ("we," "us," or "our") through booksbymario.com. By accessing or using AI Academy at booksbymario.com/learn, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the platform.
AI Academy provides online courses, assessments, AI-powered tutoring, and related educational content ("the Service"). Our current course offering, Designing & Building AI Products, is a 16-week professional development program available through monthly or annual subscription.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and purchase a subscription. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at mario.urbina@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
AI Academy offers the following subscription plans:
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file through our payment processor, Stripe. All payments are processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your payment card information.
Prices are displayed in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your location.
Promotional codes (including codes distributed through our published books) are valid for one redemption per customer unless otherwise stated. Promotional discounts apply to the specified period only. Codes may not be combined with other offers and have no cash value.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Account portal within the platform or by contacting us at mario.urbina@gmail.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then.
We offer a 7-day refund for new subscribers who have not completed more than two weeks of course content. To request a refund, contact us within 7 days of your initial charge. Refund requests after this window or for accounts with substantial course completion are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
All course content, assessments, AI-generated responses, diagrams, and materials available through AI Academy are owned by Mario Urbina or licensed to us and are protected by copyright. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the course content for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes during your active subscription.
You may not:
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You agree not to misuse the AI Tutor feature to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content, or to attempt to manipulate the AI system in ways that circumvent its intended educational purpose.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Educational content is provided for informational and professional development purposes — it does not constitute professional advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mario Urbina shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
