This Privacy Policy explains how Mario Urbina ("we," "us," or "our"), operating booksbymario.com and AI Academy, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and learning platform. We are committed to handling your data with transparency and care.
Account information: When you create an AI Academy account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name unless you voluntarily provide it.
Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVV on our servers. Stripe may collect and store payment information subject to their own privacy policy.
Learning data: We collect and store your course progress (which modules you've completed), quiz responses, practice scenario submissions and AI-generated feedback, and portfolio entries. This data is used to power your learning experience and sync it across devices.
Usage data: We may collect information about how you interact with the platform, including which lessons you access and how long you spend on them, to improve the learning experience.
Communications: If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
We use the following third-party services to operate AI Academy:

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns about specific services.
AI Academy includes an AI Tutor powered by Anthropic's Claude. When you send messages to the AI Tutor or submit practice scenarios for grading, your text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. These messages are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. We recommend not including sensitive personal information in your AI Tutor conversations.
Your practice scenario responses and AI-generated feedback are stored in our database so you can access your portfolio over time.
AI Academy uses browser local storage to maintain your session and sync your access level between visits. We use Supabase's authentication system, which stores session tokens in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information and learning data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (such as transaction records for tax purposes, which Stripe retains).

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage via Supabase, and row-level security policies that ensure each user can only access their own data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
AI Academy is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
